22 Feb Dream Clients/Dream Kitchen
When Wendy and Brian came to me for a consultation, they were faced with the decision of possibly moving or undergoing a major renovation to create a kitchen great room that would suit the needs of a family of five.
While they did not regret purchasing their current home, they felt pressured a few years back to buy something quickly to get the children settled in school after returning from living and working in London. It wan’t their dream home but they loved the neighborhood and school, and really wanted to stay but was their dream space possible?
We went over the kitchen photos in the clip file they had put together to show me, as well as their wish list. After reviewing everything and meeting with various contractors, we determined the job could be done and within their budget.
The space was tight, there wasn’t enough cabinet space and it just did not flow right.
We had to plan the renovation so that it would not interfere with Wendy’s teaching schedule so we began bi-weekely meetings six months before the project began to go over the details and selections. We sheduled pre-construction meetings with the contractor and sub-contractors and stayed on task. Brian’s finanacial background came in handy as he created spreadsheets of budgets (we actually came in under budget when they job was complete by about 5%) and a clear timeline.
Wendy and Brian truly were dream clients and I am thrilled we were able to make their wish list a reality and create the kitchen of their dreams.
