12 Oct Simple Apple Crumb
I love reading blogs and shelter magazines with intricate recipes and beautiful photos of meals and desserts, lovingly prepared and I dream of the day where I can spend hours doing just that. But because my schedule is so limited, anything I make has to be easy and quick (and of course delicious otherwise the critics in my house wouldn’t touch it and it would all be a big waste of time!) This recipe for apple crumb is simple, absolutely delicious and literally takes ten minutes to prepare with 30 minutes to bake. On this crisp, fall morning, my son is home from college for the first time and he will wake to the smell of fresh apple crumb hot from the oven.
Recipe for Simple Apple Crumb
5-6 tart apples peeled, cored and sliced thin
1 tbsp sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 cup butter melted
3/4 cup sugar
1 egg
1 cup flour
1 cup chopped pecans or walnuts
Layer sliced apples in pie dish and sprinkle 1 tbsp of sugar and 1 tsp of cinnamon on top
Mix remaining ingredients and spoon on top of the apples
Bake at 350 for 30 minutes and serve warm with vanilla ice cream. Enjoy!
