My amazing two day design escapade: Design on a Dime, The Cloisters and Sleep No More Last fall, I was the lucky winner of the Weekend in Manhattan Grand Prize at the Voices Against Brain Cancer Walk. I decided to book the apartment during the week to easily attend some events taking place and to get a feel of city living on a weekday, as this is something my husband and I talk about frequently "when the kids are grown." The thought of attending High Point Market to navigate 180 buildings, 11.5 million square feet of show space, along with 75,000 attendees to shop for furniture in just two and a half days was daunting, to say the least.  So daunting, in fact, this past weekend was my first time ever, along with my friend and colleague, Meredith, another newbie.  I had never made the trek because I was always too busy with clients, had my go-to lines that served me well, didn't want to take time away from the family and had heard how overwhelming market is.  Thankfully High Point has been doing this since 1909 and has gotten it down to a science with an online planning guide, shuttles that take you everywhere, information booths galore and the MyMarketApp for your mobile device. 39bcf4ec80b513dc7ef0594f4466b366
