One which most individuals are aware of (complete whole wood) and an alternative which was only introduced to the market around 10 years ago. Solid Wood Flooring – In this case each floorboard is made from 100% whole wood. It means that the floor is extremely strong and you can sand and refinish it later in its service life. The 2nd annual IFDA NY Take a Seat charity auction event benefitting Habitat for Humanity took place at Room & Board in Soho last Thursday with a fabulous turn out of over 250 people thanks to the tireless efforts of Tamara Stephenson, Lisa Mc Mahon, Maureen Klein and the entire committee. Designer and tv personality Libby Langdon hosted the event with professional auctioneer Harrie E. Copeland III.  Guests bid on 28 one-of-a kind chairs created by leading designers and artisans to a high energy crowd. The entire team from NYC&G was in attendance and the CEO of Habitat for Humanity spoke about the organization.  Everything was beautiful - the chairs, the people and the venue! IMG_4703
